Funding for Faculty
Mini-grants: The Office of Service-Learning offers instructional mini-grants to faculty for projects which advance the University’s General Education Initiative goal of service-learning in undergraduate courses. These grants support the enhancement of the service/reflection component of courses offered during the 2009-2010 academic year. Applications are submitted and awards announced on a rolling decision basis after review by the faculty advisory committee. Awards may be for up to a maximum of $1000.
Funds may be used for expendable materials, photocopying costs, visits to service site, teaching assistant to help with administration of the service-learning component, consultation with the Writing Center to develop reflection assignments, consultation with IT to create WebCT threaded discussions, or attendance at a service-learning conference. Grant applications are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 academic year.
